The Industrial Interior Designer is responsible for leading, facilitating, and helping grow Interior Design services in the Industrial market.

Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the Project Executives to identify and secure new clients and opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers to deliver interior design services.
  • Be a trusted advisor to clients in a way that maintains or improves our standing.
  • Perform work on all phases of Architectural and Interior Design projects including Design Development, preparation of drawings, specifications, design review, coordination, and correlation of construction drawings.
  • Prepare and take responsible charge of design development and construction documents for interior design deliverables following company standards and quality processes.
  • Research new materials and innovative solutions to determine the most appropriate selection for the project.
  • Create project narratives, space plans and develop /modify production drawings.
  • Plan, coordinate, and administer projects from the initial programming stage through construction administration including furniture selection and installation.
  • Proactively Identify client issues or concerns and develop meaningful solutions to the problem.
  • Review submittals and assist the Project Architect / Project Manager throughout construction administration.
  • Meet or improve on planned budgets.
  • Proactively develop and share best practices, training, development initiatives, and appropriate budgets to achieve them with the Technical Practice leader (TPL) and Department Leader (DL).
  • Assist TPL / DL with the development and effective deployment, communication, and understanding of best practices.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of project delivery quality and efficiency for interior design services, including collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Identify barriers to successful deployment of best practices, capture and communicate lessons learned, and develop proposed solutions.
  • Work with the TPL and DL to identify gaps and resolutions to maintain employee compliance with firm policies.
  • Assist the TPL with proactively monitoring the compliance of the team on the consistent use of tools, processes, and best practices.
  • Serve as an advocate for assigned staff for career growth and opportunities.
  • Utilize the HRIS systems to document performance, goals, and recognitions.
  • Help assigned staff develop goals and help to remove barriers to achieving their goals.
  • Coordinate learning and development needs with the Department Manager to ensure budget planning effectively meets the needs.
  • Assist Department Leaders with department and market-level initiatives, marketing support, proposal scope definition and pricing, technology initiatives, or other tasks as requested.
  • Fill the role in a manner that demonstrates teamwork, collaboration, and servant leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8 -10 years of design experience minimum, 12 preferred.
  • Ability to assess and quantify client needs via in-person or virtual meetings.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Professional licensure required AIA, NCARB, and NCIDQ.
  • Proficiency with all necessary software including REVIT, AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite, and BlueBeam.
  • Demonstrated mentorship and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact comfortably in a variety of settings and strive to create and maintain excellent trusting and professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external consultants with integrity and professionalism.
  • Understand the importance of assessing and maintaining the financial performance of the project and oversee interior design budgets on projects to achieve labor hour budgets and strong financial performance.
  • Ability to travel as needed for projects.
  • Strong visual and special skills with the ability to convey necessary information through multimedia.
