What you'll be contributing:
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Conducts inspections of plant equipment and machinery for proper operations and lubrication. eoChecks equipment and machinery for noise changes, vibration, and higher-than-normal temperatures.
Performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on equipment and machinery.
Adds lubricants to equipment and machinery to ensure proper lubrication levels for smooth operations.
Develop solutions for vibration issues quickly and efficiently
Effectively convey technical information to team members and clients
Monitors inventory levels of oil, grease, and other lubricants.
Prepares required paperwork regarding lubrication schedules and activities.
Assists in the operation and maintenance of plant liquid cooling system.
Performs proper cleanup and disposal of used oil and grease.
Performs general housekeeping duties and job cleanup.
Reports issues and problems to supervisor and creates work requests in Computer Management Software.
Sample gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, and monitoring oil changes when samples indicate dirty or degraded oil.
Monitors dust collectors and performs daily inspections as determined by supervisor.
Changes failed dust collector components.
Collects dust collector bag samples to determine wear patterns and improper installations.
Observes the condition of plant water systems. Assists in managing water containment in plant retention ponds
Monitors water systems used in the production process. Adds acids and chemicals to these systems
Conducts Method 9 and Method 22 testing to determine if maintenance work is required and as required after completion.
Works continuously monitoring vibration and temperature sensors, data collectors, and databases to ensure accurate asset health trending.
Performs routine vibration measurements on equipment and identifies early failure signs and causes.
Performs acceptance testing for new equipment and after repairs.
Interprets vibration monitoring data and recommends to plant management regarding equipment's future life expectancy.
Monitors and records kiln performance and health. Tracks maintenance procedures and recommends necessary corrections to rollers and tires.
Achieves ISO Vibration Category II certification (Vibration Analyst I).
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
To succeed in this position, you will need:
High school graduation or equivalent is required
2 years' lubrication experience in a cement or related industry plant facility preferred
Understanding of mechanical systems and vibration principles
Ability to diagnose problems and develop effective solutions
Skill in analyzing vibration data to identify trends and anomalies
Ability to adjust to new technologies and changing the work environmental
Proficient in effective written English, verbal communication, and listening skills
Extensive knowledge of all plant equipment and machinery to understand lubricant types and desired levels of appropriateness for each piece of equipment and machinery in the plant
Ability to perform welding, pipe fitting, and other general maintenance and repair activities
Ability to monitor and repair equipment to ensure compliance with environmental regulations is met
Ability to read and interpret technical information
Knowledge and understanding of the mechanical operation of plant equipment
Proficient in Microsoft Office365 Suite and computer applications
Proficient in problem-solving
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Knowledge of and ability to perform arithmetic, which may include algebra
Proficient with using personal computers and software, including but not limited to CMS (and Excel)
Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
Willingness to learn, training will be provided
What to expect in a cement environment:
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
