Salary Range: $86000 - $141800 Salary
This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At One Call, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. JOB SUMMARY:
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for planning, monitoring, and managing assigned technical projects. These projects encompass a wide range of initiatives such as building, enhancing, and maintaining software, updating systems and infrastructure, adopting third party solutions, and integrating with internal and external systems. This role will work closely with Technical Product Management, Product Designers, development teams, testing teams, and other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure projects are well defined, communicated, and executed efficiently. Technical Project Managers also facilitate risk identification and risk mitigation planning, change management, and program management to ensure all technical projects and programs are aligned, managed, and delivered successfully.
IT Project Manager II
Intermediate professional role. Will be expected to own small to mid-sized projects and support larger initiatives including being responsible identifying, documenting, and tracking all project tasks, dependencies, responsibilities, risks, and deliverables. Responsible for holding teams accountable for deliverable, escalations when things veer off plan, and facilitating decisions to continue (or not) programs. Typically requires at least two years of experience in similar roles.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with cross-functional teams to identify and document a project plan (from design through delivery) including identifying tasks/actions, resources, roles and responsibilities, deliverables, milestones, timelines, dependencies, stakeholders, and risk and risk mitigation.
Works with IT teams to ensure adequate resource availability and allocation for projects.
Identifies inter-team and inter-project dependencies and aligns project timelines and milestones.
Monitors, documents, and communicates project status, progression, and spend against the project plan to appropriate teams, leadership, and stakeholders.
Identifies, communicates, and facilitates resolution to project issues, escalations, and realized risks.
Owns technical project change process: including documenting, communicating, and managing change requests, coordinating the identification and selection of change options and/or next steps with anticipated impacts and facilitating change selections and approvals.
Supports IT resource planning and resource allocation across projects and activities.
Supports roadmap planning as project experts to ensure roadmaps are feasible and within risk tolerance.
Participates in IT Team project activities and may take on leadership roles such as serving as scrum master, conducting post-project retrospectives, and documenting process improvement recommendations.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in business, technical, or administration field or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
PMP certification is a plus.
At least two years experience in project management or program management for technical projects (note: project management experience within another role is acceptable).
Proficiency in project planning software
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Extensive knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures and guidelines
Knowledge of the industry project management best practices
Knowledge of various types of IT project methodologies and life cycles (e.g., agile, rapid delivery, classic or traditional waterfall phases of analysis, design, development, testing, implementation) and the correct project application
Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry (e.g., ISO, CMM, Six Sigma)
Knowledge of workers compensation industry preferred.
Knowledge of company's products and services preferred.
Experience with Azure DevOps
Demonstrated skill in managing project budgets and timelines.
Skill in the use of negotiation techniques to reach agreement when there are widely differing viewpoints.
Excellent analysis, problem-solving, team, conflict management and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact effectively with executive level clients.
Ability to set clear expectations, manage team performance and build high morale among team members.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and carry out assignments that are sensitive in nature.
