We have an exciting opportunity for a Safety, Health and Environmental Engineer to join our Middletown, PA facility. This position will ensure the facility complies with all applicable Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements (e.g. State, Federal and Schneider-Electric). Detailed knowledge and practical application of environment, health and safety regulations is required. The SH&E Engineer will provide EHS support to our operations including engineering, warehousing and manufacturing.

This individual will be an integral part of the leadership team and will work closely with our operation to drive the necessary programs to ensure excellent overall results in environment, health, safety and sustainability.

It is envisioned that this individual will promote the importance of a strong environment, health and safety culture by providing training and establishing/directing EHS programs. This individual must display good communication, planning, collaboration and leadership skills.

  • Promote a culture of zero incidents and place strong value on our human resources.

  • Assures the employees and the operations maintain compliance with safety and environmental programs, regulations and company policy; as well as support the review of any changes to laws and regulations that may impact the facility. Collaborate with regional Safety team to revise as necessary.

  • Perform job hazard analysis and ergonomic assessments to identify risk in our operations. Propose engineering solutions to eliminate risks. Ensure corrective actions are taken.

  • Train associates, supervisors and all other employees in the areas of general safety and environmental awareness, specific program requirements and specific job requirements. Collaborate with regional Safety team to create training programs.

  • Complete monthly training on safety and environmental topics.

  • Maintain required records, preparing reports and files as necessary to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.

  • Track and evaluate KPI data trends, and provide input to management reviews, with a view to continuous improvement and enhancement of EHS performance.

  • Conduct warehouse safety and environmental inspections.

  • Organize and coordinate emergency response.

  • Organize and lead the safety committee.

  • Coordinate accident investigation and reporting.

  • Facilitate ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements.

  • Exposure on ISO 14000 & OHSAS standards.

  • Ability and willingness to train large groups of people.

  • Ability to manage projects with on time delivery.

  • Minor schedule flexibility (accommodate 1 st and 2 nd shifts).

  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and PA DEP regulations.

  • Accident investigation experience.

  • Familiar with job safety analysis process.

  • Ability to lead and influence in a matrixed organization through developing good working relationships and holding others accountable.

  • Bachelor's degree in Environment, Health and Safety; or other relatable degree; or equivalent degree.

  • 2+ years experience in safety & environmental or engineering role.

  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft office and general databases/web based applications.
