Title: Instrument Services PLM
Location: Preferred locations include Germantown, MD Indianapolis, IN; Home Office/Remote can be considered pending candidate qualifications

Job Summary:
The Instrument Services PLM is responsible for the definition, go-to-market, and overall life cycle management of a complementary Services portfolio (e.g. repair, calibration, sparing, etc.) supporting VIAVI’s test and measurement products. He/she will drive demand generation activities for new and existing services through pricing, positioning, promotion, forecasting, segmentation, marketing collateral, sales training, and customer engagement programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities: 

• The successful candidate will be able to easily move between inbound and outbound business development, product launch and go to market activities including detailed marketing requirements, back-end fulfillment and service center operations processes, executive-level customer presentations, proposal development, and marketing promotions.  Key responsibilities include:


• Understand and effectively market the service portfolio value proposition. Ensure sales channels know how to position and defend pricing. 


• Work collaboratively with Sales, Partners and Service Operations to pursue, support and win deals within global regions.


• Partner with product PLMs, Solution Architects, and Sales to understand product offerings and their associated market need for services.  Identify new business opportunities through market research, competitive analysis, and feedback from customers and partners. 


• Manage Service strategy across product lines ensuring clarity on market characteristics as needed to optimize local presence, operational scale, ROI and GM.


• Initiate new Services program/project development concepts.  Define and launch Service offerings in support of new and existing product/solutions.  Drive business growth through development of go-to-market strategies and promotional campaigns.


• Ownership of back-office operational processes for Oracle set-up of Service offerings to ensure seamless execution of quoting, order management, and fulfillment. 


• Forecasting and reporting for designated Service product lines.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Qualifications: 

• BS degree EE, ME, CS or related field.  MBA desired.


• 2 to 5+ years’ experience in Product/Services marketing or service center technical operations.  


• Experience in the life cycle aspects of electronic hardware products and understanding of associated calibration and repair services and calibration lab standards.


• Experience leading cross-functional teams across multiple organizations and geographies.


• Experience in the telecommunications industry is preferred.  


• Strong analytical and project management skills.  


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholder organizations.
