Internship Summary: Intern will support Value Stream Operations with a focus on changeover improvement for multiple packaging lines, while cross functionally partnering across the site to support Value Stream Operations as a whole.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Students' scope of work may include the following:
Utilize Kaizen, Gemba, Process mapping, SMED and other Lean tools to understand changeover activities and identify waste.
Partner with engineering team to learn how to complete root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
Partner with Value Stream Operations to complete Standard Work to support improved changeover process and times. Assist in training on new processes.
May assist in troubleshooting equipment failures on production floor.
Collaborate across multiple functional units, including operations, quality, process engineering and maintenance to reduce downtime and ensure teams have the technical support required.
May participate in other CI projects, potentially partnering across the site and/or with suppliers to drive improvements and sustainability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be pursuing an engineering degree at an accredited university.
Good communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to interact with all levels of the Zoetis organization. Can articulate issues and solutions to the team. Can produce effective project reports and presentations.
Position requires daily or frequent interaction with Director, Senior Manager, and Manager level colleagues; Production Management and Supervision, Engineers, Quality Operations, Maintenance Technicians, Production Operators, Contractors, and Vendors.
Can analyze problems and provide support in determining appropriate corrective and preventative actions, with minimal assistance.
Capable of simultaneously managing multiple assignments. Prioritizes own work. Flexible and responsive to changes.
Familiarity with a computerized maintenance management software system preferred namely SAP.
Physical and Time requirements:
Job duties involve occasional lifting of 20-60 lbs.
Flexible hours and overtime may be required.
Work Environment: Duties will include working in a manufacturing and Lab environment where eye protection and other personal protective equipment are required.
Candidate must not be Cephalosporin/Penicillin sensitive.
The following hourly pay rates reflect the anticipated base pay for this position:
If the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Associate-level degree: $16.00 per hour
If the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Undergraduate-level degree: $20.00 per hour
If the selected candidate is a student pursing a Graduate-level degree: $32.50 per hour
If the selected candidate is a student pursuing a Doctorate-level degree: $36.00 per hour
The following hourly pay rates reflect the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be in California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois (Chicago area), Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington (Seattle area):
Student pursuing an Associate-level degree: $17.00 per hour
Student pursuing an Undergraduate-level degree: $22.00 per hour
