In line with this, project DRIVE is shepherding change throughout the organization and created the development of the Go-to-Market Capabilities (GTMC) team within the company.
The new GTMC organization is charged with delivering best-in-class capabilities to bring speed and increased value to commercial operations. It will refine priorities across products, markets, and the pipeline through dynamic resources allocation and efficiencies. Silos between business units and duplicative and overlapping resources will be replaced with standardized processes and tools. Operating with a One Sanofi mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, GTMC will accelerate and improve key capabilities to do more with less and facilitate the best-informed strategic decision making across the organization.
The GTMC organization aims to:
Centralize Go-to-Market operational tasks across GBUs
Standardize best in class capabilities, strengthen global support, and implement a better vertical reporting structure within GTMC from local to global
Define ways of working, bringing clarity on the interactions across GBUs, Digital, and Commercial executional support teams from Sanofi hubs to optimize process excellence and efficiency
The Lead, Global Competitive Intelligence (CI) - Global Vaccines will be responsible for leading CI activities for all global vaccine brands. This position will provide a high level of competitive intelligence analysis and will be an integral cross functional partner to the leadership and commercial teams. Key components of this role will include proactively monitoring and synthesizing the competitive environment, analyzing threats and opportunities, and working with cross functional partners to provide insights to help guide the short- and long-term strategy of the vaccine franchises.
This position will report to the Lead, Insights & Analytics - Global Vaccines and will be based in France or US.
Main Responsibilities:
Serve as the competitive intelligence subject matter expert for selective key vaccines assets with clear pull through impact and relevance to the brand
Ensure effective utilization of competitive intelligence, as related to the vaccine portfolio across relevant divisions and functions, to provide timely, actionable, unbiased, and fact-based competitive insights, benchmarking, and recommendations regarding commercialization strategies
Lead commercial efforts for strategic assessments of competitor activities, market situation analysis, strategic forecasting, strategic and operational benchmarking, and articulation of implications
Globally monitor and benchmark strategic plans and key developments of main competitors to provide an early warning for potential threats and opportunities for successful implementation to prioritized strategic initiatives and tactical plans for your assigned portfolio
Lead all portfolio efforts to create comprehensive and effective intelligence programs in support of key stakeholders' strategy development
Maintain comprehensive and current understanding of the evolving relevant competitive landscape and implications in support of strategic planning initiatives at the global level
Design and execution of competitive planning initiatives (competitive simulations) for key global vaccines subject to significant competitive events.
Collaborate with global brand leadership to support competitive readiness efforts and share learnings across Sanofi local affiliates
Rigorously apply the Company's standards of ethics and policies for intelligence gathering - ensuring the effective implementation and integrity of all competitive and business intelligence activities such as primary research, and other intelligence gathering and analysis projects through timely and appropriate coordination with stakeholders, and external vendors
Proactively communicate and facilitate discussions with all key stakeholders to ensure that these ethical and legal standards are well integrated into all competitive intelligence activities
Own the vendor selection process and relationship with multiple vendors (together with internal partners, as needed)
Manage CI budgets for the global vaccine portfolio
Take a leadership role in the development of CI best practices
Oversee day-to-day operations of Hub teams, ensuring contributors are successfully implementing GTMC processes for Sanofi. Consistent oversight of related Hub activities is performed whether Hub contributors report to this role or not.
Advise Hub contributors on GTMC processes, involved I&A tools, inputs and outputs as well as business principles.
Prioritize Hub activities to suit the brand team's needs and ensure Business continuity across I&A processes
Provide technical guidance / oversight on development of projects in support of competitive intelligence
A minimum of 10 years of experience in biopharma industry; equivalent combination of education (MA, MS, MBA / PhD) and / or relevant consulting experience may be considered
Strong analytics capabilities and demonstrated application of skills and any related methodologies
Experience with vendor-side CI firm and/or consulting firm strongly preferred
Experience across global, regional, local roles strongly preferred
Product launch experience strongly preferred
Experience working directly within or partnering with related functions including new product planning, marketing, value & access), a plus
Demonstrated ability to drive to deadlines, balance competing priorities, and ensure high quality deliverables
Experience leading and developing high functioning teams
Experience in vaccines therapeutic area strongly preferred
