We are currently seeking a full-time Professional Engineer / Professional Surveyor for our Transportation team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive experience and possess the professional and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on our firm and clients.
Annual Compensation: $102,000-135,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER / SURVEYOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Project management responsibilities including:
- Preparing scopes of work and estimates for engineering and survey projects.
- Developing project quality control and quality assurance processes.
- Planning, scheduling and coordinating technical aspects of projects.
- Performing professional review of project deliverables.
- Having excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate
effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders.
- Engaging regularly with clients to discuss current projects, evaluate performance and
identify other client project needs.
Perform analysis for complex boundary surveys and prepare associated plats and boundary descriptions.
Perform advanced calculations involving field survey data.
Prepare surveyor's reports, legal descriptions, closure calculations and other documentation as required.
Use Civil 3D to design and produce drawings.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of the client's standards.
Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties:
Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D required; Bentley OpenRoads Designer preferred.
Working knowledge of field instrumentation, GPS and robotic total stations.
Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment and innovative ideas.
Some regional travel possible.
Other duties as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER / SURVEYOR ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required
PE and PS required
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience
Experience with ODOT survey and right-of-way standards preferred
