Location: Kansas City, Missouri
We are seeking a Technology/Low Voltage Designer to assist project teams in creating a multitude of technology construction documents for healthcare, higher education, civic, and commercial building-type projects. The Technology/Low Voltage Designer will be responsible for the design of the structured cabling systems typical in commercial construction, taking into consideration the project budget, client objectives, and coordination with all related disciplines. Other responsibilities include keeping up with trends in technology, attending professional development events, and staying in touch with local industry professionals. Ideal candidates will have attention to detail, a strong technical background, a desire for organization, and effective communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities:
Education/Experience: Possess a four-year degree (B.S. in engineering is preferred) or equivalent combination of technical degree and related experience designing technology systems for buildings. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the AEC field with in-depth design knowledge of building technology systems. Related experience in the design of healthcare, higher education, civic, or commercial building technology systems.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Industry BICSI RCDD certification is required. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and willingness to use an insured personal vehicle in the course of employment.
Qualifications/Skills: Candidate must be proficient Microsoft Office, AutoCAD & Revit. Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without the need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be detail oriented and able to perform each essential duty effectively.
