Position Summary:
The Onsite Support Technician - III plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of audiovisual (AV) and IT systems at our customers’ facilities. Working closely with managers, Avidex resources, manufacturers, and clients, this position requires a strong technical background in audio, video, and control systems, along with a solid understanding of computer and network functionality. Success in this role demands exceptional attention to detail, effective communication skills, punctuality, and the ability to support and sustain complex AV/IT systems.

A key focus of this role is providing an elevated level of white-glove service to support, operate, and maintain AV and IT systems, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.


Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of technical and/or onsite support experience in the AV/IT industry.
  • Certifications:
    • AVIXA CTS certification is required.
    • CompTIA ITF+ certification must be obtained within one year.
  • Proficiency in using Windows and Apple operating systems.
  • Strong networking knowledge and skills.
  • Advanced expertise in operating, troubleshooting, testing, and adjusting integrated audiovisual/IT systems.
  • Proficiency with AV/IT software, hand tools, and test equipment.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.
  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds (assisted).
  • Must have good eye/hand/foot coordination and sensory capabilities.
  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions (hot, humid, or cold).


Responsibilities:

  • Provide client support for meetings and conferences, including setup, tear-down, and operation of AV equipment.
  • Coordinate AV resources for customer meetings and conferences, ensuring timely support for both planned events and last-minute requests.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, testing, repair, and adjustments to integrated audiovisual/IT systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve control system issues with remote assistance as needed.
  • Deliver preventive maintenance and create detailed status reports for system repairs and findings.
  • Review open tickets and customer support history with relevant staff to ensure resolution.
  • Delegate tasks, set priorities, and offer technical guidance to team members.
  • Deliver on-the-job training focused on system setup and configuration for junior team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring safety practices are followed by all team members.
  • Submit timely and accurate reports, including support logs, timesheets, expense reports, and parts lists.
  • Mentor team members to foster professional growth and skill development.
  • Adhere to OSHA and organizational safety standards.
  • Attend safety, coordination, and training meetings as required.
  • Stay up to date with certifications and technical knowledge through ongoing training.
