As the Research Nurse Manageryou are responsible for the overall day to day clinical operations of the research nurses.
You will oversee and manage day-to-day activities of a team of Research Nurses and research assistants
You will oversee clinical trial-related activities completed and performed by the research nurses to assure completeness and accuracy as well as adherence to federal and state guidelines
You will provide suggestions for improvement in processes and overall quality and monitors outcome if deficiencies are identified
You will assist with training new research nurses
You will problem-solve clinical situations along with research nurses as they arise
You will monitor patient enrollment at sites through weekly and monthly reporting.
You will identify opportunities and develop action plans as necessary to increase patient accrual
You will assist in development and tracking of quarterly goals for each research nurse and clinic
You will meet with physicians and administrators as needed to assess performance of clinic
You will evaluate staffing needs and provides optimal coverage of research offices
You will communicate to the research nurses the overall performance standards and expectations day to day
You will make frequent visits to research sites
You will interview research nurse candidates
You will work with other team members in Clinical Operations department to ensure communication and responsibility are effective among the two groups
You will be responsible for individual site goals, financial performance, quality assurance, oversight and contracted patient enrollment
You will submit annual performance evaluations to supervisor for review and conduct the evaluations
You should have for this position:
An Associate Degree; preferably a Bachelor's Degree
RN License
Knowledge of medical and research terminology
Knowledge of FDA Code of Federal Regulations and GCP
Knowledge of the clinical research processes
At least three years of oncology experience preferred
At least three years of experience in a research setting preferred
At least three years of supervisory or management experience
Research Certification (ACRP, CCRP or SOCRA) Preferred
OCN certification preferred
