Job Description:

The mission of Alum Rock Counseling Center (ARCC) is to heal families and inspire youth to reach their full potential. For 50 years, ARCC has provided a wide range of behavioral health counseling and school-based support, designed to promote health equity & educational equity, and ensure that high-risk youth stay safe, in school, and drug & violence free. The agency supports a predominantly Latinx (83%) population in underserved schools and neighborhoods throughout Santa Clara County with a focus on the high-need area of East and Central San Jose. ARCC staff provide services to youth and caregivers who otherwise might struggle to afford and/or access quality care. In 2023-24, the agency served 5,000+ individuals, through 13 different programs, including individual and family counseling, substance use prevention education, youth mentoring, family reunification, parent training/support, and services in 30+ high-need schools.

We have 85 full-time employees and over 25 dedicatedvolunteers that make our program run. Alum Rock Counseling Center (ARCC) is working closely with local school districts to deliver the Prevention Early Intervention (PEI) Services Program in East and Central San Jose. Employing evidence-based practices, PEI services are targeting high-risk youth and their families with the goal of preventing, reducing, and eliminating mental health issues that may be inhibiting academic success and family wellness. The Family Partner supports PEI by engaging students and their families through parent education, resource management and linkage services.
DUTIES:
Provide outreach and recruitment strategies to engage families in PEI programmingFacilitate presentations to teachers, students, school staff, and community partnersHost information tables in community eventsEngage families during school eventsProvide Case Management Services (meeting with families in the community and/or in the home)Work with families to identify resource needsFormulate, implement and monitor individual student/family service plans Conduct follow-ups and monitor service delivery and client progressAssist families with service provider process navigation to ensure service obtainmentEnsure that all required forms, consents, family plans, legal documentation, etc. are properly completed and kept up to dateAdminister evaluation surveys as required by contracts. Understand and adhere to the laws governing child abuse reportingMaintain confidential client records and files in accordance to state, county, and quality assurance guidelines. Maintain an active caseload based on program revenue needs. Lead student and family workshopsFacilitate student and family education workshops following identified curriculum (Strengthening Families, Positive Parenting Program, and skill streaming)Ensure all workshop preparation activities have been executed Provide Touch and Refer servicesProvide one-time service information and linkages at a variety of venues and events Properly track the services provided to students and families in the communityAttend weekly meetings, weekly case conferencing, and trainings necessary for professional development and as required for the agency and its funding sources. Maintain productivity expectations as required by ARCC Other related duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; AA or advanced training preferredBilingual English/Spanish required.Personal experience with the Child Welfare System preferred.Case management/counseling experience in a community based setting.Effective verbal and written communication skills, public speaking skills and demonstrated computer literacy.Ability to meet deadlines.Understanding of and sensitivity to economic and cultural issues in diverse communities.Able to work independently with minimal supervision, and as a positive member of a team.Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by the Department of Justice. Current TB test clearance. Must have a reliable transportationCOVID19 vaccination and booster, highly recommended.
