What you will enjoy doing*


  • In this role, you will play a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing Linde’s reputation, working closely with the broader communications team and reporting into the Director, External Communications, you will support our business by developing strategic communication plans, leading media outreach efforts, and working closely with senior leadership to drive brand visibility and media coverage


  • Develop targeted and effective communications plans which align with Linde’s business objectives and industry trends

  • Build consensus by appropriately seeking feedback in a highly matrixed, global organization. Collaborate with internal teams, including Global Communications colleagues, Investor Relations, Legal and others to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging

  • Serve as one of the key contacts for media, cultivating relationships with high-profile publications and reporters to help position Linde favorably and accurately in media coverage

  • Manage inquiries and requests, collaborating with internal stakeholders to determine how best to respond

  • Draft high-quality and accurate materials, including press releases, talking points, FAQs, position statements, videos, web content, media pitches and others as needed and manage internal alignment and approvals with key internal stakeholders

  • Manage communication strategies for company-wide issues, supporting our businesses as needed and working with cross-function teams to mitigate reputational damage

  • Help monitor media and social media coverage of Linde, competitors, industry and other related topics, using insights to inform Linde’s activities

  • Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of external communication efforts. Provide report and updates to the senior leadership on media coverage, public sentiment, and other relevant metrics

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree is required plus a minimum of 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, and/or PR agency experience

  • Experience developing strategic communication plans that align to business objectives

  • Excellent media relations experience

  • Crisis and issues management skills and experience, including an ability to act as a calm, authoritative figure under pressure

  • Sound writing skills, superlative project management and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities

  • Work well under pressure with competing deadlines in a high-exposure corporate environment

The salary range for this role is $118,350 - $173,580.
