Job Description:

Join Facilities Management at the University of Oklahoma and be part of a team dedicated to meeting the University's ever-changing needs for facility maintenance, utilities, and custodial services. Located within Facilities Management, the Access Control Department is responsible for maintaining the University’s campus security, including keys, Cores, mechanical and electrical door hardware, and locks. 


Duties:



  • Performs installation and maintenance of electronic door hardware and access control devices.

  • Assist locksmiths as necessary.

  • Installs and maintains electronic door hardware and card readers.

  • Assists in making cores and keys for doors, cabinets, lockers, mailboxes, desks, and padlocks.

  • Assist in maintaining locks and door hardware on campus.

  • Assists in managing inventory levels.

  • Responsible for completing and managing work orders as assigned.

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized desk, work vehicle, and shop.

  • Performs other duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Skills:



  • Uses tools or equipment in a manner requiring competence.

  • Reads and interprets routine materials such as simple blueprints and written instructions.

  • Performs common math problems (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication) and simple algebraic equations.

  • Performs recordkeeping operations, making changes to existing records, including computerized records.

  • Possesses good verbal and written communication skills.


Certifications or Licenses:



  • Valid Driver's License


Working Conditions:



  • Physical: Climbing stairs and ladders. Frequent and repeated bending, stooping, and kneeling. Frequent lifting and carrying loads in excess of fifty pounds, up or down stairs. Repetitive wrist and arm movement.

  • Environmental: Occasional exposure to stressful situations and extreme weather conditions. Ability to respond to afterhours and weekend emergency calls. Some overtime required, including nights, weekends and holidays. May be designated as an "essential position" during emergency closures. May be required to remain on campus overnight during weather or other emergencies.
