Job Description:

Provides technical support to analyze, design, and implement soft ware, systems, and operating system capabilities. Assists in coding and maintaining utilities, job control language, compilers and system software.



  • Provides software support in loading, dumping, and maintaining data on databases.

  • Designs and performs various tests on all systems.

  • Makes recommendations about the methods and ways to obtain and analyze data to improve quality and efficiency of data systems.

  • Assists systems and programming staff using data debugging tools.

  • Assists with updates and reorganization of the databases to support users' requests.

  • Assists operations in defining and maintaining backup and recovery.

  • Analyzes and assists in performance monitoring of database activity.

  • Identifies patterns and trends in data sets.

  • Assists in providing data security for users.

  • May coordinate users' requests for database usage.

  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function or the position.

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, AND:



  • 24 months experience in Data Processing, Database Management Systems or related experience.  


Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months related experience. 


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



  • Ability to analyze large datasets.

  • Ability to problem solve.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Organization skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to understand computer languages used within databases.

  • Ability to understand database design and construction.
