The Electrical Engineer will work with our Laboratory Products Division in the Controlled Temperature Technologies (CTT) Business Unit. You will be immersed in a collaborative culture with resources to deliver the refrigerated lab equipment that our customers need to achieve their scientific goals - quickly, reliably and safely. The role will reside in Marietta, OH.



How will you make an impact?



This role will support the design and manufacturing of laboratory equipment, including biological safety cabinets, shakers, incubators, and freezers. Specific responsibilities include electrical components, electrical subsystems and product testing.



What will you do?



  • Lead and participate on projects to improve overall product quality, cost, and throughput, with a focus on optimizing the electrical systems for ease of manufacturing and cost reduction.

  • Actively participate in the product development cycle from New Product Introduction (NPI) thru product discontinuation.

  • Takes ownership of projects and drive them to completion using the Engineering Change Request (ECR) Process.

  • Develop and maintain accurate specifications and documentation for electrical systems and subsystem/component performance.

  • Develop and implement test plans to validate electrical system performance while applying design for reliability tools and performance sensitivity analysis. Consideration must be given to the applicable third-party certifications, including FDA, UL, CSA, and CE requirements.

  • Coordinate with electrical component and assembly suppliers as required.

  • Experience solving electrical systems, including both analog and digital circuits, and components to correct existing problems and improve product quality and reliability.

  • Perform work in office environment with frequent exposure to manufacturing plant activity while using Personal Protective Equipment as required.

  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obey all safety policies and procedures, as well as comply within ISO standards, regulatory or statutory requirements.

  • Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics and the 4-I Values.

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and support PPI and Lean Manufacturing projects.


How will you get here?





Education/Experience




  • Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering, 3-5 years' experience required, Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Up to 2 years of related product support experience focused on manufacture and maintenance of medical devices in a regulated environment.

  • Experience with PCB's, bench/in-product testing, and regulatory testing (NRTL, EMC/EMI).

  • Experience with electro-mechanical systems, including products with refrigeration systems.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and SolidWorks is preferred.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities




  • High levels of self-discipline and a proven ability to drive projects to completion in a global multi-functional team environment.

  • Minimum to high complexity Project Management experience is a plus.

  • Must have excellent communication and social skills and can demonstrate same within a matrix organization and with all levels of management.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
