Job Description:




As a Prospect Management and Research Analyst within the University Advancement Team, you will play a critical role in supporting the organization's fundraising efforts. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Advancement Services and Prospect Research, your primary responsibility will be to identify and research alumni who have capacity to make significant philanthropic gifts to the university and identify non-alumni individuals with philanthropic interests that align with university priorities. You will be responsible for prospect research, analysis, and managing prospect information in order to support the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of potential donors.





Key Responsibilities:






  • Conduct Prospect Research: Utilize various research tools, databases, and publicly available information to identify potential non-alumni donors who have a demonstrated interest in philanthropy and align with the university's campaign priorities. Prepare high level briefings for the president, senior leadership, and select volunteers that are accurate and concise.


  • Prospect Evaluation: Assess the capacity, inclination, and philanthropic history of potential donors through comprehensive research and analysis. Provide insights and recommendations to the advancement team to determine the best approach for donor engagement.


  • Prospect Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prospect information, interactions, and research findings in the donor database. Regularly update prospect profiles to ensure accurate tracking and strategic planning.


  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other members of the advancement team, including gift officers, to share prospect research findings, insights, and strategies. Facilitate effective communication and coordination to maximize donor engagement and achieve fundraising goals.


  • Campaign Priorities Alignment: Develop a deep understanding of the university's campaign priorities, strategic initiatives, and fundraising goals. Identify and prioritize potential donors whose philanthropic interests align with these priorities.


  • Donor Pipeline Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust prospect pipeline by identifying new prospects.


  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze prospect data, performance metrics, and campaign progress to generate reports and provide insights to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making processes.


  • Confidentiality: Adhere to the confidentiality, security, and integrity standards of Clark's University Advancement policies and procedures along with the ethical guidelines set forth in the Association of Prospect Researchers for Advancement Ethics Statement.






Requirements:





  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Business, Communications, or Nonprofit Management.

  • Experience: Prior experience in prospect research, fundraising, development, or related fields within the nonprofit or higher education sector is highly desirable.

  • Research Skills: Strong research abilities with proficiency in utilizing various research tools, databases, and publicly available information sources to gather relevant donor information.

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex data and make strategic recommendations based on findings. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity when maintaining prospect records and performing research.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise reports, presentations, and donor profiles.

  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including gift officers, fundraising professionals, and advancement staff.

  • Confidentiality: Demonstrated understanding of the need for maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive donor information.

  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with donor management systems, prospect research tools, and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Strategic Mindset: Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to support the advancement team in achieving fundraising goals.
