The Department of Health and Human Performance (HHP) at Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking to fill a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Health and Human Performance, starting August 2025. Health and Human Performance Department Mission Statement:Our mission is to foster the development of students' understanding and application of theoretical and practical science in the areas of health sciences, pedagogy, and sport management.
Responsibilities:The HHP Department strives to provide a challenging, yet supportive environment for our students. We seek candidates with a demonstrated enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching, and a commitment to creative instruction. We encourage candidates who are prepared to teach courses related to Health Promotion and Fitness Management to apply. Courses may include Drugs in Modern Society, Human Sexuality, Worksite Health Promotion, Sport Facility and Event Management, Current Issues and Ethics in Sport, Introduction to Sport Management, and/or courses assigned by the department chair. The candidate will also assist in academic and career advisement of undergraduate students. As an academic advisor, candidates will support students in vocational exploration, as well as developing academic plans that fulfill the University's Archway Curriculum and selected major requirements. Candidates will also contribute service to the department and the University.
