Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:



  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field.

  • 1 year of experience as an Instructional Designer at a university or college.

  • 1 year of experience designing online and hybrid courses in Canvas.

  • 1 year of experience managing projects using a project management platform (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Wrike, etc.)

  • Strong ability to evaluate instructional needs and identify solutions.

  • Proficient in handling multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Advanced knowledge of instructional design software and learning management systems.

  • Expertise in streamlining communications and workflows.

  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.

  • Effective team collaboration and relationship building.

  • Ability to address challenges proactively and efficiently.

  • Ability to coordinate complex projects and meet tight deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain high levels of organization and attention to detail.

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing project demands.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience as an Instructional Designer at a university or college.

  • 3+ years of experience designing online and hybrid courses in Canvas.

  • 3+ years of experience managing projects using a project management platform (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Wrike, etc.)

  • 1+ year of experience managing people.

  • Advanced knowledge of Canvas, Articulate Rise, H5P, DesignPLUS, UDoIt, and TidyUP.

  • Familiarity with Texas State University's policies, processes, systems, and organizational structures.

  • Current Quality Matters Peer Reviewer or Master Reviewer certification.

  • Current project management certification (CAPM or higher).


Job Description:

Responsible for overseeing instructional design projects, including project details, deadlines, and communications. Perform instructional designer duties on emergent projects. Coordinate instructional design best practices to support consistently high standards.



This position is eligible for full-time remote status at the discretion of the unit AVP.


Job Duties:



  • Manage project schedules for over 100 concurrent course development projects.

  • Communicate with department chairs and program leads regarding course design progress and faculty assignments.

  • Lead the instructional design team in standardizing best practices for blended, hybrid, and online course design.

  • Audit project management systems weekly and address at-risk projects.

  • Develop and implement professional development opportunities for faculty.

  • Provide just-in-time support for overflow projects and emergent instructional design needs.

  • Compile data for end-of-semester reports and evaluate team performance metrics.
