Research Associate 2



The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Research Associate 2 to work at the Boca Raton Medical Plaz




Core Job Summary



The Research Associate 2, SOM contributes to the University's research activities under the supervision of senior staff. Moreover, the incumbent understands, interprets, and complies with research policies and protocols.




Core Responsibilities





  • Performs specialized and complex experiments/studies.




  • Participates in the publication of significant research results.




  • Advances expertise through education, training, and research.




  • Writes extramural grants/proposals to gain support when appropriate.




  • Collects, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens and tissue cultures.






Department Specific Functions



The Research Associate 2 supports research activities under the direction of a principal investigator, or designee of the principal investigator.





  • Performs specialized and complex procedures related to a wide range of research studies /substudies.




  • Acquire an understanding of the research program and the details of specific research projects




  • Collecting research data, including the performance of study procedures, completion and scanning of source documents, and data entry




  • Participates in the publication of significant research results.




  • Advances expertise through education, training, and research.




  • Participates in training sessions and workshops.




  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.




  • Complete questionnaires and neuropsychological evaluations of cognitive outcomes of normal aging in men and women as part of a nutritional intervention study.




  • Ensures study participants are provided in-person handoff of investigational product.




  • Assists the senior clinical research coordinator with managing electronic case report forms, database input, and IRB compliance




  • Performs specialized and complex procedures related to a wide range of research studies /sub studies.

Core Qualifications





  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field




  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience






Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:




  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.




  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.




  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
