Job Description Summary:

The ESG Data Governance Manager will work closely with the Regulatory Reporting and ESG Directors to lead preparedness efforts for ESG reporting, ensuring compliance across the organization. The role involves working with a cross-functional team to manage ESG data flow, maintain internal controls, and align company policies with regulatory obligations.



Job Description:


ESG Data Management:


  • Oversee the data collection and validation processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of ESG data.

  • Partner with internal data stewards to collect data points outside the data lake, ensuring proper supporting documentation.

  • Analyze data variances and trends to maintain accuracy across all ESG data points.

  • Serve as the primary system administrator handling system issues and coordinating system upgrades.

  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, issue trackers, and inventories.



Regulatory Compliance and Change Management:


  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes related to ESG reporting requirements, particularly focusing on CSRD.

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of ESG ad-hoc reports to regulatory bodies.

  • Support change management initiatives related to ESG reporting and compliance in partnership with the ESG team.

  • Communicate updates in regulatory requirements and reporting processes to relevant stakeholders.

  • Monitor internal initiatives (e.g., new products, entities, or sites) to ensure proper impact assessments and documentation of relevant changes to ESG regulatory reports.



Internal Controls and Processes:


  • Develop and implement robust internal controls to ensure data integrity and compliance.

  • Regularly review and update ESG reporting processes and procedures.

  • Support internal and external audits and assessments of ESG data and reporting practices.



Stakeholder Collaboration:


  • Collaborate with internal data stewards to validate data according to the appropriate processes and controls and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with ESG team to inform corporate sustainability strategy, align reporting, and support overall ESG program objectives.

  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities as needed.

  • Provide training and support to staff on ESG reporting requirements and best practices.



Continuous Improvement:


  • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in ESG reporting.

  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of ESG reporting.





Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field.

  • Familiarity with the GHG Protocol for measuring and managing greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Essential understanding of ESG standards and regulatory requirements, especially CSRD is a plus.

  • Experience in financial audit and/or building processes and controls.

  • Proven experience in regulatory reporting;

  • Excellent analytical and data management skills;

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy;

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills;

  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
