As the Occupational Health Nurse, you will serve as a highly skilled, autonomous occupational health nurse supporting our Brooklyn Park team to drive health and wellness initiatives while partnering closely with the facility safety team.
What you will do:
Partner with EH&S and HR to generate and implement ongoing improvements that support an initiative-taking health and safety culture to improve the health and wellbeing of our team members; Seeking ways to innovate, improve and create best-in-class occupational medical practices.
Lead Caterpillar wellness program and wellbeing initiatives, including monthly campaigns, health initiatives and managing onsite health exams.
Deliver comprehensive nursing services and strategy related to employee wellness, day-to-day medical clinic support, and illness and injury prevention initiatives.
Respond to on-site medical emergency response and leads on-site Emergency Response Team (ERT), including compliance and training.
Take a leadership role in the crafting of facility Emergency Response Plans (ERP).
Receive and critically evaluate medical documentation to determine the need for medical leave and the appropriateness of both medical restrictions and accommodations.
What you will have:
This role requires a state of Minnesota Registered Nurse license and at least 3 years of experience in occupational medicine or acute care. You will use your skills in phlebotomy and active CPR.
Knowledge of the concepts, methods, tools, and applications used in medical record management and demonstrated ability to document, manage and maintain patient medical records following established processes and guidelines.
Knowledge of the techniques, roles, and responsibilities in assessing and diagnosing patients and the ability to apply the knowledge appropriately assess and diagnose patients into diverse situations.
Knowledge of Minnesota medical and work comp laws and policies. Knowledge of regulations and standards regarding the occupational safety and health of personnel working within an organization (Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS)) and the ability to apply relevant regulations and standards to daily work activities.
Knowledge of key business and clinical leadership concepts relevant to the healthcare function; ability to balance business needs with the needs of patients' and patient care priorities. Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
Knowledge of the policies and activities regarding nursing assessment and care; ability to assess patients' nursing care needs, develop and implement a nursing care plan, monitor progress, and adjust as necessary.
Knowledge of medical devices and tools; ability to use medical devices and tools to evaluate and treat patients.

This onsite, five-day-per-week position offers flexible core and variable hours to support a three-shift operation. (First shift hours: Monday - Friday 6am-2pm; second shift hours: Monday - Friday 2pm to 10pm; third shift hours: Sunday 10pm-Friday 6am )

Summary Pay Range: $87,480.00 - $131,280.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
