RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Charlotte, NC that is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join their Public and Private Cloud Solutioning team.

Summary:
This mid-level role focuses on solutioning for business units, guiding infrastructure decisions to ensure the best outcomes for application performance, cost, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have experience working with multiple public cloud providers, with a primary focus on AWS, along with a strong foundation in private cloud infrastructure. This role emphasizes evaluating and recommending solutions to optimize workloads, whether on private or public cloud, and determining the best architectural approaches for applications.

Cloud and Infrastructure Solutioning:

• Collaborate with business units to evaluate application needs and determine the best deployment model: public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid


• Provide guidance on architectural decisions, such as selecting serverless (e.g., AWS Lambda) or container-based solutions based on business and application requirements


• Assess and recommend cloud environments and infrastructure options to meet migration goals, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency

Cloud Environment Evaluation:

• Evaluate applications to determine the best cloud solution, whether utilizing AWS EC2, EKS, serverless services, or private cloud virtualization


• Guide workload optimization by analyzing trade-offs between virtualized environments and serverless architectures


• Perform assessments to ensure applications are appropriately sized for resource and budget requirements

Hybrid Cloud Strategy and Integration:

• Ensure seamless integration of applications across on-premises and public cloud environments


• Support private cloud infrastructure, including hypervisors, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, and virtualization technologies


• Optimize networking solutions

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer or similar mid-level role


• Experience working with multiple public cloud environments (Azure, GCP, OCI) , with a strong focus on AWS (90% of public cloud is AWS).


• Knowledge of private cloud infrastructure, including hypervisors, DNS, networking, firewalls, virtualization, and load balancers


• Familiarity with container-based solutions such as Kubernetes (PKS) and serverless architectures like AWS Lambda


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate solutions and recommend the best approaches for business units


• Ability to effectively communicate technical decisions and collaborate with business stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with software-defined networking (NSXT) and microsegmentation


• Previous experience leading or contributing to application migration projects


• Understanding of hybrid cloud integration and workload optimization strategies


• Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with diverse teams

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
