RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Java Software Engineer (API Developer) in Smithfield, RI.

Duties:

• Use modern programming languages and frameworks


• Designing microservices & streaming systems which can handle high TPS traffic with low latency


• Working with Java


• Work with Cloud technologies including AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.


• Care about cycle time and use CI/CD practices, tools to rapidly deploy changes to customers while minimizing risk using practices like A/B tests, blue-green deployments, and feature toggles

REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years of experience working with Java


• Experience with variety of modern programming languages and frameworks


• You have the expertise and experience in designing microservices & streaming systems which can handle high TPS traffic with low latency


• Hands on experience in Java, and Rest based microservices particularly Spring Boot apps


• Hands on experience working with AWS EKS, and AWS managed solutions such as lambda, API gateway, SQS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM roles/polices, Datadog, etc.


• Hands on experience in container-based development (Docker)


• Hands on experience in Hibernate ORM/JDBC/Connection Pooling, etc.


• Experience with Cloud technologies including AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.


• Experience in implementing Micro services Architecture & building/deploying highly automated, scalable and maintainable infrastructure


• Experience with DevOps CI/CD practices, build and deploy tools (preferably GitHub, Jenkins, Stash, Artifactory, Terraform, etc.)


• Demonstrated expertise in Kafka technology to develop and support data ingestion services


• Familiarity working with Authorization and Authentication


• Proficiency in databases, SQL Secure design and coding practices


• Proficient level knowledge of RESTful APIs and good knowledge of standard methodologies in API design


• Have strong communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in meaningful discussions


• You have a passion for technology and can navigate your way across complex and constantly evolving landscapes by staying on top of latest trends and thrive by sharing knowledge


• Experience with Financial services and Brokerage domain is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
