BHE GT&S has an exciting summer internship opportunity for an Economics, Business or Marketing student within our Commercial Services Department at our headquarters located in the Richmond area (Glen Allen), VA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This Business Development and Marketing internship is designed for the student looking to receive hands-on Business Development and Marketing experience, while performing market research, data analysis and developing visualization tools that inform business decisions. BHE GT&S is specifically looking for a rising sophomore or junior to fill this role.
As an intern on our team, you will gain experience in a variety of areas related to the natural gas pipeline and associated businesses.
Some of the work you will be doing with our Market Development Representatives will include identifying and researching potential expansions and new service opportunities within our natural gas pipelines' business. This will entail customer research and ad hoc requests to vet each project's potential. Supporting the development of projects relating to low carbon fuel options such as hydrogen and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) will be involved as well. Through this internship you will be provided with many insights into the dynamic and growing energy industry. For example:
Introduction to tools that will help you better understand the potential growth opportunities and that show how to build a business case for those opportunities.
Utilization and development of visual tools to create reporting, dashboards and intuitive map views.
Exposure to multiple energy projects, customer meetings and access to energy leaders.
Considering your interests and our business priorities, you may also perform other job duties as requested or assigned.
We are looking forward to working with you to build on knowledge you have gained at your college or university and providing real-world applications. Success in this role means gaining an understanding of energy pricing locational hubs and then learning to build reports based on this acquired knowledge.
To support your summer internship experience we offer a series of virtual events that support the National Association of College and Employers (NACE) career-ready competencies so that you can learn more about our values, our work, and each other.
Individuals must have a desire to learn and produce as part of a safety conscious workplace. An independent source of transportation for this summer 2025 internship is needed as there is limited public transportation options in the area.
Your summer internship will be a minimum of 8 weeks on site (June 2 - July 25).
Successful candidates who are 50 miles or more from the assigned work location may be eligible for a one-time housing stipend.
