At BD, we have been flying in support of our business for 75 years. As we continue in this great service, we're happy to say that we're looking for an additional Captain to fly our Falcon 7X. Captains at BD are responsible for the safe conduct of flights to which they are assigned. Captains report directly to the Chief Pilot
When assigned to a flight, the captain has the final authority in the operation of the aircraft. Captains must ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and foreign regulations, as well as the policies and procedures specified in the company operations manual. Captains are the company's most visible representative to the passengers and must act with tact and decorum while ensuring an
efficient and safe operation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Acting as pilot in command (PIC) of flights for which the pilot has been scheduled
Providing excellent customer service to passengers
Following schedules and other directives governing the aircraft's operation
Ensuring that preflight inspections are performed
Studying weather conditions at destination, enroute, alternate airports and departure points
Preparing flight plans
Ensuring that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passengers
Reviewing and calculating the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board and performance charts
Supervising the SIC (second in command) in any duties necessary for the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the aircraft
Coordinating the functioning of all crewmembers assigned to the flight
Managing and communicating with crew, and other team members, while maintaining the highest levels of professionalism, and CRM, in alignment with the BD Way
Ensure that aircraft operations are in accordance with BD Aviation Flight Operations Manual and Standard Operating Procedures, including use of checklists, are strictly adhered to by all crew members.
Participation in the Safety Management System by creating a flight risk analysis for all flight segments, filing safety reports as necessary and helping to maintain a positive safety culture.
Monitoring crew performance, sharing knowledge with crewmembers and evaluating crewmember potential for advancement
Making decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate
Captain Qualifications/Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years college; Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
Flight training received through an FAA approved school or training program.
Two (2) years of recent experience as a pilot in Corporate Aviation.
A minimum of 5,000 hours total flight time with 3,000 hours as PIC, and preferably a minimum of 1500 hours in turbine powered aircraft.
Flight experience in Falcon 7X or 8X preferred
FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating with appropriate aircraft and type ratings.
FAA 1st class medical certificate.
International flight experience preferred
FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
Position is based out of Morristown, NJ and ideal candidate should be within approximately 1.5 hour driving distance of base.

Provide copy of all training certifications
