We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cook to join our team at Karcher Post Acute, a respected nursing facility. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appetizing meals for our residents, ensuring they meet dietary needs and preferences while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook daily meals for residents, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, following established menus and recipes.
Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and accommodate special dietary needs (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic, gluten-free, etc.).
Maintain proper portion control and ensure meals are served at the appropriate temperatures.
Assist with meal planning in collaboration with the Food Services Manager and dietitian.
Follow food safety guidelines and ensure kitchen hygiene standards are met, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
Monitor inventory levels, report shortages, and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Ensure that all resident food preferences and restrictions are followed accurately.
Assist with meal distribution to residents, ensuring timely and proper delivery.
Provide support during special events or celebrations (e.g., holiday meals, resident birthdays, etc.).
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, dietary aides, and nursing team to ensure the highest quality of care for residents.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Ability to bend, stoop, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
Ability to work in hot and noisy kitchen environments.
