Responsibilities:
Keep public and common areas spotless, including the lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
Maintain resident rooms and bathrooms to the highest standards of cleanliness.
Ensure handrails are clean and free of debris.
Clean walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and towel dispensers, removing dust, dirt, and food.
Empty trash bins and replace liners.
Sweep, mop, and maintain floors throughout the facility.
Follow safety protocols when cleaning, including using caution signs and keeping supplies out of reach of residents.
Use cleaning supplies and equipment safely, following user manuals and instructions.
Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
Report any safety concerns or issues regarding residents to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies are low or need replenishing.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive, friendly attitude.
Demonstrate excellent time management skills.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (minimum requirement).
Experience working in a long-term care facility is preferred.
Ability to read and understand manuals and instructions.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various types of instructions (written, oral, diagram, or schedule form).
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to sit, kneel, stand, walk, and communicate effectively.
Frequent use of housekeeping supplies and equipment.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typically quiet, with low to moderate noise levels and scents.
