Summary:

Tetra Tech is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to support a variety of projects within Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) technical areas. The Project Manager will contribute to and manage projects and client accounts within our Advisory Services Team practice areas. The Project Manager will have opportunities to work with leadership to support business development efforts while developing professionally to manage more complex projects and programs. Projects will include a variety of core EHS compliance services including permitting and routine reporting per NPDES, EPCRA, RCRA and other federal and state regulations. In addition, the Project Manager will contribute to sustainability reporting and strategy development projects, as well as ESG program implementation, and environmental compliance management projects for a variety of clients, primarily in the commercial/ industrial sectors. The individual will be expected to work on various projects in parallel, independently defining project sub-tasks, and performing the tasks in a time-efficient manner in a collaborative team environment. Projects may be national or global in scope and are likely to focus on emerging environmental sustainability issues and environmental regulatory compliance. Occasional client site visits and field work for projects are anticipated in this role; travel commitment is projected to be 5 - 20% consisting of primarily local/regional travel. A clear driving history and current Driver's License is required. The working location is remote with the opportunity to work in an office environment if the candidate desires.

Your Role:


  • Manage projects efficiently and within defined and client-approved scope, schedule and budget constraints. Take advantage of Tetra Tech provided project management and client management training opportunities to improve skills.
  • Manage client accounts as part of a team with progressively increasing responsibility for specific client accounts and for sales of ESG and EHS services. Develop client accounts and increase revenue value with those accounts through strategic evaluation of client needs and selling of value-added services that Tetra Tech can provide to meet client needs.
  • Interact with internal Tetra Tech teams across discipline practice areas to collect data and develop solutions and work products for task and project completion.
  • Perform data analysis utilizing software, spreadsheets, databases, or other novel solutions to assist with delivering project solutions to clients.
  • Dependent on the project and your areas of expertise, complete and/or provide technical review for permit application forms and regulatory submittals associated with environmental compliance requirements for our clients and their projects
  • Augment data analysis with topical research and offer integrated solutions to real-world problems associated with sustainability best practices, risk evaluation, and climate resiliency recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver proficient technical documents, reports, and presentations related to the project's needs.
  • Apply knowledge gained in previous assignments to subsequent projects and assignments.
  • Provide empathetic leadership to team members. Encourage the career growth of and clear communications to junior team members and perform quality assurance reviews of team member work to ensure expert guidance and products are delivered to our clients. Demonstrate the ability to manage small teams and lead by example when working in small teams, and with other Tetra Tech units for project support.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from a four-year college or university. A related Master's degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience managing projects and teams.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to execute and synthesize qualitative and quantitative analysis at a high level of attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated ability to generate new business.
  • Understanding of federal and state environmental regulations for water and waste management
  • ESG reporting proficiency
  • Understanding of key ESG frameworks and ability to stay on top of trends.
  • A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Target salary range: $80,000 to $90,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
