As the Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will ensure plant production and equipment operates to its maximum capacity. Working with production team to adhere to company targets for utilization, output and cost. Optimize new and existing processes while maintaining/improving quality standards and establish processes for new products.


  • Plan, manage and develop and implement continuous improvement projects and initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity. Research and develop of new and existing manufacturing processes and techniques. Coordinate project activities across functions to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion. Troubleshoot and resolve conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and complex coordination requirements.
  • Prepare, monitor, evaluate and analyze a variety of metrics focused on reduction of variants, uptime, process capabilities and line optimization related to business KPI. Align current process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvement and implement any new KPI's. Conduct analysis of systems and use analysis / diagramming tools to represent business/technical processes.
  • Recommend changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Develop test plans and protocols for evaluation of system performance. Develop conversion and system implementation plans. Prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation. Train personnel in the conversion and implementation of the system.
  • Monitor, analyze and recommend improvements, procedures and processes to reduce unnecessary downtime. Working with operational cross functional teams to address areas of redundancy, scheduling, material needs, inventory management, maintenance needs etc to reduce overall machine/equipment downtime.
  • Develop, review and update documentation related to internal processes and procedures ensuring accuracy, clarity and production utilization. Utilize and implement visual tools and methodologies to create visual process documentation and systems.
  • Create effective communication plans to drive adoption and engagement. Work with all levels of staff to promote and implement improvement ideas and culture. Facilitate the deployment of new and changed processes.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with to improve business processes and procedures and perform Root Cause and Failure Analysis (RCFAs).
  • Develop resolutions to reduce defect rates and lead time.
  • Investigate and implement improvements to existing product processes. Implementation of a continuous flow line flow with supporting management operating system and organization

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor Degree in engineering - chemical, electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a hands-on continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge and experience of utilizing and implementing CI tools such as 5S, Kaizen, etc. Techniques such as- statistical analysis, statistical process control, takt time, value stream mapping, 6S, SMED, TPM, OEE. Implementation and understanding of TPM and improvement processes
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience; preferably green belt certified.
  • Focus and experience with safety needs, ergonomics, and best practices.

  • Effective communication and team building skills with both internal and external stakeholders. Able to write and present clear, concise documents to high standard. Ability to lead cross functional teams using the DMAIC and Kaizen approach

  • Strong creative problem solving, analytical, data and decision-making skills. Ability to automate and streamline processes and procedures.
  • Project, time and organizational skills with high degree of attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills with knowledge of Office products with high technical skills for excel, word, and powerpoint to develop tools and track KPI's
