This position will be responsible for implementing projects in support of site targets and continuous improvement in the manufacturing processes. Automation and Controls Engineer will be capable of completing projects requiring multi-disciplinary skillset, minimal supervision, self-starter and motivated to work with others to deliver measurable results. Experience with automation and manual processes and the analysis to determine when each are needed in a factory.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to safety standards.
Experience with Ladder Logic Programming (PLC's) Allen Bradley.
Collect and analyze time studies along with capacity analysis.
Experience with new equipment sign off and Management of Change to implement new equipment into a factory.
Analyze production equipment of any manufacturing process and make recommendations and plans for enhancements on equipment that will result in improved processes.
Knowledge/experience of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in a factory preferred.
Ability to read, follow, and execute plans through CAD drawings or OEM instructions.
Ability to communicate to supervisor and co-workers with written memos or emails that are professional, concise, and clearly understood.
Support and analyze present tooling and make recommendations to replace or rebuild such tooling with other types of materials to improve or prolong tool life.
Support design, development, and engineering on machine tools and fixtures and related items for plant improvement projects.
Must be able to work and act in a professional manner with all levels of associates and interface with customers as required.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
7 years manufacturing experience that aligns with above elements.
Bachelor's Degree preferred, but 5 years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree
Fabricate parts, devices, fixtures, and structures using machinery, hand tools, and welding equipment are a plus.
Demonstrated ability with problem solving (6 sigma / RedX) methods that drive root cause and corrective actions.
Train mechanics on lessons learned and process improvements.
Knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, & Outlook.
Individual must be a "Team Player" that can work in an environment with multiple changing priorities.
Support equipment launch efforts for new products, product extensions and processes into the plant.
