Position Overview:

This incumbent in this position will be a recognized expert across the company in program management of our most critical enterprise-wide priority programs including our medical device product and country launches with internal and external partners. The Director of Enterprise Program Management:


  • Leads strategic and tactical program management activities for the Mobile Pillar of our Omnipod 5 Franchise.

  • Anticipates internal and external business challenges, product, customer experience, and/or regulatory issues; and recommends and implements process, product or service improvements.

  • Assists the program teams in solving unique and complex cross-functional problems that have a broad impact on the business and the achievement of Insulet revenue goals.

  • Leads our most critical and complex enterprise-wide programs through a methodical approach of planning, executing and controlling projects from start to finish.

  • Demonstrates enterprise solution ownership and guides teams through project execution process to realize Insulet's strategic objectives.

  • Helps ensure consistent practices throughout all phases of the project life cycle and across project functional teams.

  • Uses professional project management concepts and frameworks in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems in a creative and effective way.

  • Exercises a balance of independent judgment and group organization to improve upon or create new business processes and evaluation criteria to obtain results.

  • Develops, enhances and shares best practices across ADO and wider organization.

  • Provides training, mentoring, and coaching to new or junior ADO members.

Responsibilities


  • Responsible for planning, program management, and on time delivery of major enterprise-wide strategic priorities such as product and country launches and complex largescale systems releases, across multiple Agile Solution Delivery trains

  • Responsible for building and maintaining rolling 24-month cross-functional end-to-end product schedule in collaboration with Product Management team

  • Build and maintain overall detailed project plan, Gantt chart, status updates, and RAIDE Register (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies and Escalations) integrating all cross-functional workstreams including product, technology, commercial, market access, clinical, regulatory, UX, packaging & labeling, operations/supply chain, etc.

  • Gather cross-functional input to assist Franchise Heads in prioritizing and allocating budget to enterprise programs

  • Maintain and update project schedule and dependencies integrated with Agile teams, ARTs, and Solutions PI Plans

  • Lead release-based program core team and steering committee meetings for assigned program(s)

  • Lead project-related activities of project team members, providing guidance on conformance to established design control procedures.

  • Identify and assess mitigation options for program risks and issues, and escalate as needed to ensure program success

  • Partner with Product Manager and core teams in problem solving and scenario analysis to assess impact of change requests

  • Provide input to Agile teams and ARTs review during PI planning and assess impact of PI Planning output to overall plan

  • Constantly work to improve the internal systems for design control to improve the time-to-market cycle for new products

  • Adhere to all regulatory agency standards, company quality standards and corporate policies.

  • Support Franchise head by coordinating input and materials and facilitating all cross-functional enterprise-wide program stage gate reviews and closures though Planning, Execution, Validation, Launch, and Post Launch assessment

  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, mentor, and manage performance of Enterprise Program Managers responsible for planning and delivery of large-scale systems releases and product/program launches

  • Define & implement career paths; provide up-skill/cross-skill opportunities, and drive actions to strengthen culture and engagement among team members

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as business needs demand

  • Perform other duties as required

  • Vetoes unapproved plan or resource changes that will impact overall program timeline and unapproved communication of program status, scenario analysis, timelines/roadmaps, risks, or issues

Required Skills and Competencies


  • Program Management experience of large scale enterprise-wide systems releases and product and country launches

  • Project management certification preferred

  • Expert program management skills and demonstrated success in leading large-scale enterprise wide multi-year programs/systems releases & product launches

  • Experience leading development, testing, and commercial launch of complex innovative hardware, software, and cloud connected medical devices

  • Experienced working with Agile teams to develop and launch products against concreate deadlines

  • Strong knowledge of relevant medical devices functions (e.g. manufacturing, R&D, software, cybersecurity, clinical affairs, global regulatory)

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of global medical device regulations and QMS compliance

  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to function in a fast-paced, growth industry and work environment

  • Proficient in the following computer software applications: MS Office products, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, Teams, Sharepoint, and Project.

  • Helpful to have working knowledge or familiarity with SAP, Arena, Salesforce, JIRA, Polarion

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • At least 10 years of overall work experience in a technical discipline and 10-12 years of demonstrated experience in a program management role

  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience managing and developing people (directly or indirectly)


Additional Information

  • The position can be remote, hybrid or in-person.

  • Travel is estimated at 25-50% but will flex depending on business need.

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $170,100.00 - $255,150.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
