POSITION SUMMARY:

The Spine Triage APP will review NS referrals, triage spine issues by physical exam, order additional radiology studies as necessary, and determine disposition (schedule with spine physician or place orders for conservative treatment). The purpose of this new program is to reduce the number of non-surgical patients that find their way to the physicians clinic schedule, allowing more availability for surgical patients.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews patient records and films, conducts in-depth interviews with patients, constructs comprehensive medical histories, conducts initial physical examinations, and explores patient's interpretation of health needs. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, service, and related activities. May be responsible for research and/or academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

Master's or Medical degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.

This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64.
