Position: General Administrative Assistant
Reports to: Department Manager

What you'll be contributing:
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Performs general administrative activities including organizing and maintaining filing systems, processing paperwork and expense reports, prioritizing, distributing mail, making photocopies, filing, and taking phone messages.
Organizes and accurately maintains filing systems and confidential information.
Composes and types general business correspondence including memos and e-mails.
Prepares charts, tables, graphs and other presentation material.
Responds to various inquiries both internally and externally.
Sends out and receives mail and packages.
Organizes and schedules meetings, business travel, and program activities.
Completes administrative projects including but not limited to coordinating, tracking or analyzing events, researching information to respond to questions, creating spreadsheets and monthly reports or analyses, and organizing large volumes of material.
Takes meeting minutes, arranges for audiovisual equipment, and sets up meeting facilities.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
To succeed in this position, you will need:
High school graduation or equivalent is required
One year of previous administrative assistance experience.
Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
Willingness to learn, training will be provided
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Excellent clerical and written communication skills required.
Knowledge of office procedures and general office equipment.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to work well with all levels of staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Professional appearance, confidence, and considerable judgment & discretion in handling confidential information.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team-driven environment - flexibility and adaptability are key.
What to expect in a cement environment:
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
