Salary Range: $112,000.00 - $122,000.00 Salary/year

Description

The role of a Physician Assistant faculty member is to coordinate and teach courses and lectures, participate in patient assessment and clinical skills workshops, advise/evaluate students, and contribute to the program's overall success. The ideal candidate will be passionate about contributing to PA student education and deeply committed to providing students with high-quality, impactful learning experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Coordinates, teaches and evaluates the effectiveness of assigned courses/modules.

  • Prepares lectures/presentations and student assessments for assigned courses/modules.

  • Assures the availability of remedial learning activities and office hours.

  • Tracks and monitors progress within assigned courses/modules.

  • Participates in training and evaluating students in physical exam workshops, laboratory, and clinical skills sessions.

  • Serves as an Academic Advisor to students throughout the program.

  • Participates in activities related to ongoing program assessment and data analysis.

  • Participates as a clinician at community health fairs, interprofessional clinics, and other outreach projects, supervising PA students as requested.

  • Fosters academic collaboration with other MBKU programs.

  • Engages in faculty development or clinical practice activity.

  • Serves on University and College committees and task forces as requested, including the Didactic, Admissions, Student Progress, and Self-Assessment Committees.

  • Carries out scholarly and professional activities in alignment with the SPAS T&P guidelines and the University Faculty Handbook.

  • Attends special student or program events, including White Coat Ceremony, graduation, program retreats, etc.

  • Collaborates with the Program Director and other faculty to review/revise the mission statement, goals, and student competencies as needed.

  • Other program duties assigned by the Program Director or Academic Director.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE



  • NCCPA-Certified Physician Assistant with a current California State license.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience as a physician assistant and/or other health professional degree preferred.

  • Previous teaching or administrative experience preferred.
