The Division of Pain Medicine at Stanford University, in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine, is seeking an outstanding Oral Facial Pain Specialist to join our innovative team as Clinical Associate Professor in the Clinician Educator Line. This position combines clinical excellence, research, and educational opportunities within the field of oral and facial pain management.

• The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Oral Facial Pain Management & Interdisciplinary Procedures: Diagnostic skill and treatment expertise in dental, oral, musculoskeletal and neurological causes of facial pain. Experience and comfort with facial nerve blocks, TMJ injections and muscle injections as well as experience with Botox injections. Expertise in interpreting MRI and CT of the jaw. Ultrasound experience not necessary but encouraged.


• 
  Billing and Insurance: Navigate billing for dental services through medical insurance, overcoming obstacles related to DME rules that prevent device use.


• 
  Clinical Procedures: Conduct trigger point injections in the temple area and manage related clinical interventions.


• 
  Collaborative Research: Participate in collaborative research efforts focused on advancing oral and facial pain treatments.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected base pay range for this position is: $330,000-$360,000.

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine's faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
