The Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIE) is seeking a qualified Assistant Director, Innovation Funding and Program Management. The Assistant Director, Innovation Funding and Program Management works with the Director to implement and grow program initiatives to meet OIE organizational goals. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
• Facilitates, tracks, and monitors the commercial translation of research projects supported through various funding mechanisms, including working strategically with faculty and staff, as well as University and regional stakeholders to execute project/s; developing plans to support project objectives; and ensuring milestones are accurately met, documented, and reported.
• Provides scientific/technological communications, advisement, and preparation for project teams and presentations, serving as a primary point of contact for program ventures.
• Crafts business plans and files invention disclosures and value propositions in collaboration with University faculty and staff.
• Maintains and regularly updates the project tracking system.
• Assists in the development, coordination, and promotion of programs, strategies, and funding competitions.
• Works collaboratively with other faculty to identify potential technologies; evaluates technologies for intellectual property protection.
An advanced degree is preferred. Technical knowledge is a plus.
