Our sales representatives work directly with amazing customers to build relationships and grow the business. We are a champion in the distribution of janitorial supplies, packaging supplies, foodservice supplies and cleaning equipment.
Note: This position requires daily travel throughout Midland, MI.
Responsibilities:
Create sales volume that includes a commitment to making cold sales calls within the assigned territory on a daily basis to prospective customers as well as growing current customer base.
Execute all phases of the sales process including accessing needs, quoting customers, closing new accounts, building relationships, and providing training when needed.
Responsible for the following activities and reporting requirements:
Demonstration and use of Selling Program
Support, attend and on-time completion of all training initiatives
Daily use of CRM system
Submission of weekly pre-planners and daily written follow up
Monthly completion of Sales Scorecards and Pipeline Updates
Provide training to customers: end users, management, etc. as needed
Ensure customer files and records are updated with appropriate contact names, phone/fax numbers, e-mail addresses, purchasing / pricing history.
Responsible for coordinating pricing and other required details on orders to ensure they can be invoiced when shipped; Occasionally entering and delivery orders.
Working closely with the Account Coordinator assigned to you to assist with coordination of quotations, order entry, etc.
Actively utilizing a time management system, and customer management system.
Attend sales meetings and training seminars as scheduled. Calling into the office on a routine basis to receive phone messages, messages from other employees, etc. Communicating as necessary via E-mail, voice mail, etc.
Non-selling time activities include writing orders, figuring bids, keeping files and e-mails current, and writing proposals.
Complete all HR/OSHA safety training within timelines provided.

The ideal candidate will have:
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Capable of writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Strong math competence required with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Understanding “add-on” percent and “margin” percent.
Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to maintain a home office base
Capable of becoming proficient with company software programs.
Valid Driver’s License; good driving record at all times, adherence to Risk Management Policy.
