The Region Vice President drives profitable growth across the Central Region territory of the Ameriprise Advisor Group (AAG) employee channel by creating and executing compelling business plans for multiple branch offices. This role requires particular focus and emphasis in the areas of new advisor acquisition; revenue and productivity improvement; advisor retention; asset growth through new clients and advisors; developing high-performing leaders; maintaining a strong, compliant operating culture; and effectively prioritizing and addressing emerging opportunities within the region. The Central region territory includes branches in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, and Utah.
Responsibilities:
Accountable for a large regional area. Demonstrates effective leadership behaviors and competencies; leadership of Complex Directors (CDs), Branch Managers (BMs), Associate Managers (AMs), and operations staff. Ensure brand standards, client service and client satisfaction are met. Maintain a compliant organization. Drive profitable growth of Ameriprise products, services and quality of advice standards. Communicate Ameriprise and Advice & Wealth Management segment vision in a compelling manner across regional field organization.
Demonstrates sound leadership and high personal performance. Leads sales leaders and staff through situational leadership, feedback, and coaching. Develop sales leader team based on identified strengths and weaknesses. Identify talent and career growth opportunities.
Responsible for defining and executing region business plan including vision and key strategies for growth such as programs to drive advisor acquisition, retention and productivity. In partnership with Region Operations leader, ensure prudent expense management and investment in key business strategies. Coordinate across business lines to execute Ameriprise and/or Advice & Wealth Management segment initiatives.
Build centers of influence across the region territory through a variety of means such as FPA, community involvement, industry seminars, and other forums. Develop and ensure strong, consistent implementation of advisor recruiting plans. Drive Experienced Advisor (EAR) and Advisor Career Development recruiting across region. Develop region's unique value proposition and articulate to candidates. Support acquisition and transition of high-impact EAR candidates and/or those from other Ameriprise advisor channels (e.g. AFG independent or AFIG banking).
Responsible for overall supervision of sales activities of all registered personnel assigned to region. Ensure sales activities are appropriate based on the client's objectives, goals, risk tolerance, time horizon and financial circumstances and adequate disclosure was provided in accordance with Ameriprise policies and regulatory rules.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in recruitment & selection, training, marketing/sales, management development, field management support, financial planning, finance and budget management
Proven success driving organic growth with advisors, proven leadership skills and ability to drive & motivate a large organization to achieve results
Business planning and strategic management skills
Excellent compliance record and knowledge of compliance requirements.
Obtain and maintain appropriate registrations to provide oversight on broker/dealer operations and develop advisor training.

Preferred Qualifications:
