Skills and Competencies



  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting, Data governance or System operations for IT related projects/implementation

  • Hands on experience with relational database architecture, SQL scripting for investigation and analysis of data models

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical details into clear business context as well as fully grasping business goals

  • Financial domain knowledge with an interest in accounting processes and financial reporting and analysis

  • Experience in SDLC and other project methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, etc.

  • Well-developed data driven problem-solving and analytic capabilities, strong organizational, management, and communication skills

  • Possess the ability to work with members of other teams across the organization and be sensitive to their needs and obligations

  • Be able to pick up new software and systems quickly and self-train via all available training and internet resources




Education


  • Undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent





Responsibilities



  • Oversees long-term data roadmap and assessing data requirements for new products.

  • Drive the roadmap and implementation of Master data management implementation (Semarchy, DRM or relevant experience) and adoption within the organization with partnership from Enterprise Data Governance.

  • Manages and enriches the data catalog (Purview, Collibra) by documenting both business and technical data schemas, enhancing data discoverability and data quality criteria within the preferred data cataloguing solution.

  • Building a data-driven culture, fostering an environment where data is readily accessible and used to inform decision-making across all levels of the organization.

  • Facilitates data sharing agreements to ensure seamless integration and compliance across systems and process owners.

  • Establishes standards for data hierarchies and Master Data Management (MDM) within their domain, ensuring data consistency, quality and approval workflow.

  • Work as a liaison between data owners across process silos.





About the team


The Data & Analytics Team is seeking a candidate to fill its Sr. Data Strategist role to support of implementing robust data governance policies, ensuring data integrity and quality across the finance organization. You will be joining an expanding Business Systems & Solutions team, you will navigate through complex data challenges, setting the standard for data management excellence. You will be working closely with both business users and IT teams to define data domains, trace data lineage, and establish actionable policies that guarantee the quality of data products. By building out comprehensive data taxonomies and liaising with diverse process owners, you will foster a culture of precision and accountability in data handling. This position will be shaping and enforcing data strategy to drive tangible improvements in decision-making and operational efficiency across the organization.



For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$116,400 - [[$168,900, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
