Job Description
This position is for a Systems Engineering Technical Lead for Active Protection Systems (APS) in the Ground Combat Systems portfolio at Elbit Systems of America. This person will lead our engineering teams to capture and execute APS contracts with the US Department of Defense, integrating existing solutions from our Affiliate companies with US-unique capabilities developed in-house.
This position will be based in Ft. Worth, TX, with Merrimack, NH being an alternate option.
Reports directly to the Engineering Director of Ground Combat Systems, in the Integrated Solutions division.
30-40% travel is expected for this role.
Responsibilities
Act as the technical leader for all APS capture efforts, proposals and contracts
Manage the engineering cost and schedule goals of these projects
Review, develop, and document system level requirements, CONOPS, and mission statements.
Work with all Technical functions to develop and document product roadmaps and plans that meet technical, cost and schedule goals.
Perform requirements management, system modeling, analysis, and allocations on complex systems design.
Produce and/or review technical documents, specifications and standards
Lead the creation of a classified Systems Integration Lab (SIL) for integrating and testing APS products
Lead system integration efforts including hands-on integration of APS systems
Plan verification and validation activities for complex system designs to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements
Prepare and/or deliver technical presentations to customers, ElbitAmerica Management or development teams
Provide regular and clear communication to customers, ElbitAmerica affiliates, government officials, and other contractors as required
Perform workforce planning and resource allocation in coordination with Engineering Functional Leadership, Engineering Business Unit Leads and Human Resources
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships within Elbit America and affiliates
Lead proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost estimating, and presentation activities
Other related duties assigned by supervisor.
Capabilities
Provide coaching, mentorship and technical leadership to the Systems Engineering team
Effectively record and communicate designs, results, reports, and presentations
Research, conceptualize, and evaluate complex system architectures and product designs, recommend design modifications to improve product performance, cost, reliability, and development schedule (can be activity lead or in supporting role)
Work independently and with internal/external organizations
Fully understand internal systems engineering procedures and systems engineering best practices
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a STEM field with 14+ years of related experience.
Experience with hard-kill Active Protection Systems (APS) programs and technology
Systems Engineering product development experience
Experience with MBSE and Agile Development
Experience working in a classified environment
Must be a US Person and have ability to obtain security clearance. Existing clearance is an advantage.
