POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Director will oversee the strategic and day-to-day technology operations of the company. This role is crucial in ensuring that IT systems are efficient, secure, and scalable to meet the needs of both field and administrative staff. The IT Director will also manage hardware and software resources, liaise with managed services providers, and lead internal technology initiatives to support the company's growth.
YOUR ROLE
Field & Administrative Support:
Oversee and support IT operations for field personnel, ensuring they have the necessary tools, resources, and support to perform their jobs efficiently.
Provide guidance and assistance to administrative staff with hardware, software, and technical issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT problems across all departments, both in the field and in the office.
Managed Services Interface:
Serve as the primary point of contact with managed services providers, ensuring the alignment of external IT resources with company needs.
Work closely with managed services teams to maintain and improve network infrastructure, security, and data management.
Regularly assess service-level agreements (SLAs) and ensure high-quality service delivery.
Hardware & Software Management:
Oversee the procurement, installation, configuration, and maintenance of all IT hardware and software for both field and administrative teams.
Manage lifecycle of IT equipment, including laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and other technology used in the field.
Ensure software licensing, updates, and security patches are applied regularly and in compliance with company policies.
Technology Project Management:
Act as the project manager for internal IT initiatives, including the implementation of new software, hardware, and systems.
Develop project plans, allocate resources, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and support business growth.
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage the IT support team, ensuring they are aligned with organizational goals and best practices.
Develop training programs and resources to ensure staff are proficient in the use of technology tools.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the IT department, focusing on operational excellence and customer service.
Strategic IT Planning:
Develop and execute an IT strategy that aligns with the company's long-term business goals.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and efficiency.
Ensure that IT systems are scalable and secure to support the company's growth and mitigate risks.
General IT Governance:
Ensure compliance with data security regulations and internal policies, including maintaining robust cybersecurity measures and backup protocols.
Regularly review and update disaster recovery plans and ensure business continuity in case of IT-related disruptions.
Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure operational consistency and security across the organization.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) is a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred to support diverse field and administrative teams.
• Experience working in the construction or field-based industries is highly preferred.
• Strong experience with IT infrastructure management, including networks, servers, and cloud-based systems.
• Expertise in managing hardware, software, and mobile device environments.
• Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, project management software, and construction management tools.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance standards.
• Proven track record of managing IT teams and cross-functional projects.
• Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and executing technology initiatives.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, growing environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical staff.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations.
• Ability to foster collaboration and build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The IT Director role requires the physical ability to alternate between desk work and hands-on tasks, such as troubleshooting IT equipment in office and field environments. The position involves sitting for extended periods while working on a computer, as well as occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting IT equipment or materials weighing up to 35 lbs. The role may require accessing server rooms or field locations, involving kneeling, crouching, or working in confined spaces. Strong manual dexterity and visual acuity are necessary for working with small hardware components and analyzing technical data. The role also requires adherence to ergonomic practices for prolonged desk and equipment use.
