Cenovus Energy is seeking a Staff Process Control Engineer for the Superior, WI location. The Staff Process Controls Engineer leads and works collaboratively with and provides domain expertise and guidance to project teams, to ensure changes affecting DCS/APC/SIS/PLC and alarm management applications are safely designed, installed, and meet the requirements of company standards and regulatory agency standards.

What you'll do:
Direct control strategy identification and development to optimize the refinery process.
Spearhead designing and implementation of control system (DCS, SIS & PLC) hardware and software.
Lead control system technical solving and provide support to operations, maintenance, and reliability.
Collaborate refinery process optimization and control strategies with operations and process engineering to enhance refinery profits and safe operation.
Conduct incident investigations from process control side as subject matter expert.
Organize loop tuning activities in refinery.
Lead Alarm Management/Alarm rationalization and collaborate with stakeholders to implement dynamic alarm activities.
Lead Advanced Process Control & Safety Instrumented System monitoring and performance.
Collaborate as t subject matter expert in process control domain with process safety group and contribute in Risk Assessments, HAZOPs and vulnerability/reliability studies.
Direct all aspects of capital/operational projects, impacting the refinery control system.
Who you are:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
12+ years of experience in the Process Controls field.
Experience in oil and gas, refining/petrochemical industries, or related fields.
Preferred:
DCS Project Design, Management and Commissioning experience.
Process Control optimization, analytical and alarm management experience.
Advanced Process Control and Safety Instrumented System experience.
Professional member (PE) registered with State of WI DSPS, TUV SIS or CAP or Cyber-Security certifications.
DeltaV Version 14.3 & Live Plant and PLC and SCADA knowledge. Other application interfaces with IT-OT-MIS space.
Process Engineering experience in an oil and gas industry or refining/petrochemical industry.
Demonstrated skills in DCS, SIS, PLC software and hardware, database applications.
Understanding of the project management fundamentals, project economics, support and execution.
Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and leadership skills.
