Join us and play your part in something special! Leads the administration, accuracy and timeliness of quality assurance audits. State National relies upon these audits as controls for the SSAE 18 - System and Organization Controls Report (SOC 1 audit). Responsible for ensuring these control audits are completed, notifying manager prior to any deadlines at risk. Escalation point for auditors ensuring they are able to successfully identify exceptions, documentation issues and potential risks. Problem solve with auditor to research and identify options to mitigate risk. Identify trends in audit findings and work with audited departments and Training department to identify best practices, document new procedures and develop appropriate retraining practices. Actively participates in the internal performance of SOC 1 audit. Performs research and special projects as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the administration, accuracy and timeliness of quality assurance audits performed by quality assurance auditors. Document trends and opportunities for improvement in audit process.
Develop new quality assurance audits, establish audit procedures and refine/improve existing quality assurance audits. Develop appropriate audit scope and parameters.
Organize, schedule, coordinate completion, and review the quality assurance audits.
Manage, maintain and issue reports on all quality assurance audits.
Verify accuracy of auditor results and wok with auditors to achieve higher level of performance results and competency of auditors.
Communicate new audit procedures to team and review audit results with management.
Participate in the performance of the periodic internal SOC - 1 audit.
Oversee the key ICFR control that validates the accuracy of the systems' set-up, premium calculation and master policy changes.
Coordinate with other departments as to changes, new procedures, and new opportunities to improve results through audits.
Actively look for and implement continuous improvements in audit processes.
Assume project/special duties as assigned by manager.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Intermediate or higher level of knowledge of Microsoft Office products or equivalent programs, particularly Excel.
Extensive knowledge of the operations of various State National departments including, Information Technology, Account Services, Client Services, Claims, Program Implementations, Contact Center, and Document Processing.
Demonstrated proficiency with InsurTrak, Home Office and Merlin systems.
Must have strong oral and written communication and customer service skills.
Able to establish and maintain high standards and measures despite pressing deadlines, do work right the first time, and inspect material for errors.
Must be a person of high integrity. No other duties or relationships should interfere with this individual's decision making.
Consensus building skills and ability to obtain agreement from multiple parties, earn trust while working out an agreement, use good timing and strategies when communicating findings, and identify hidden agendas that might interfere with resolution of terms.
Able to use a win-win approach to resolve controversy, stay objective and fair when dealing with sensitive situations, and maintain constructive working relationships despite disagreement.
Able to present new ideas to authority figures, use tact when expressing ideas or opinions, adapt presentations to suit a particular audience, and respond to objections successfully.
Able to prepare for emerging customer needs, manage multiple projects, determine project urgency in a meaningful and practical way, use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans, and organize and schedule people and tasks.
Able to display enthusiasm, promote a friendly group working environment, and work closely with other departments as necessary.
Development of employee work-product audits requires confidentiality of the data and results.
Experience/Education
5 years of experience in relevant industry knowledge.
2+ years of audit experience
College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
