We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located in the thriving city of DeSoto, Kansas.

The Facilities Chemical Tech III operates and supports chemical processing equipment, including pumps, reverse osmosis systems, and mixers. Key responsibilities include collecting samples during the production process for testing and ensuring that all delivery data, batch records, and operating parameters are accurately documented. This role contributes to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and minimize waste.

Day Shift & Night Shift
12 Hours; 5:00 - 5:45

Essential Duties:


  • Operate and support chemical processing equipment and machinery, including pumps, reverse osmosis deionized water treatment systems, mixers, and other related apparatus.

  • Completing work orders as prioritized, generating work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), accurately logging time, and providing comprehensive written and verbal communication pertaining to solutions and resolutions.

  • Manages significant maintenance projects or oversees moderate-scale projects.

  • Ability to collaborate with and oversee the Chemical Team.

  • Monitor and manage central processes to ensure operations are conducted safely and efficiently while promptly addressing emerging issues.

  • Conduct regular control checks on raw materials and intermediates for final delivery to the site for production needs.

  • Record the check-in and check-out procedures for chemical loads.

  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to mitigate risks and uphold a secure working environment.

  • Collect samples during site production for testing and analysis.

  • Ensure all delivery data pertinent to the production area is thoroughly documented and recorded, including batch records and the relevant operating parameters.

  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements.

  • Engage collaboratively with cross-functional teams including engineers, chemists, facilities operations personnel, and maintenance technicians to diagnose equipment issues and optimize production processes effectively.

  • Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance activities on equipment, including cleaning, calibration, and minor repairs.

  • Remain informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and facilitate continuous improvement.

  • Facilitate the initial response to hazardous materials incidents in collaboration with the Facilities Operations Supervisor and other relevant parties.




Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employee's, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements

Education:


  • Required: A high school diploma, GED, or at least four years of experience as a Chemical Processing Technician or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Preferred: Associate of Science in Engineering (ASE) or an Associate of Applied Science focused on chemical engineering or a related field.

Essential Qualifications:


  • A valid state-issued driver's license and the ability to operate a vehicle as necessitated by the position's responsibilities.

  • Certified in NFPA 70E and has completed the Qualified Electrical Technician (QET) program or possesses the capability to swiftly obtain certifications in NFPA 70B, OSHA 30, and HAZWOPER 40.

  • Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical disciplines, effectively operating.

  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding and proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and digital voltmeters, along with an intermediate level of knowledge regarding test and alignment equipment.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently while collaborating with and supporting internal and external team members according to the demands of the role or department.

  • Ability to commit to working rotating shifts and to undertake overtime, as necessary.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety by meticulously adhering to established safety protocols and procedures.

  • Proficient experience in Hazard Communication Regulations, which includes the proper procedures for donning and doffing Personal Protective Equipment as necessary, as well as the systematic review of Safety Data Sheets for new materials.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and effectively perform the physical demands needed for this position, including prolonged standing and functioning within confined spaces.

  • Proficient in the English language, encompassing adeptness in reading, writing, and verbal communication.
