Job Description:

The monumental and historic Capital Hilton is looking for a General Maintenance person to join their Engineering Team! This 559-room property is in the heart of the nation's capital, less than a mile from McPherson Square metro station and two miles from the National Mall, Georgetown and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.

The ideal candidate for this position will have previous hotel maintenance experience and have full availability to work the ever-changing schedule of hospitality. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who have a passion for customer service and hospitality!

Shift Pattern: candidates should be available to work both PM and overnight shifts, weekends and holidays as needed

Pay Rate: $35.65 per hour

What will I be doing?

As General Maintenance, you would be responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the facility in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Maintain the physical functionality and safety of the facility including, but not limited to, guest rooms, public space and heart-of-the-house areas
• Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and/or equipment
• Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC work and masonry
• Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance needs
• Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention
