ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY: The Office of Academic Affairs and Student Success (OASA) at USF Sarasota-Manatee upholds the standards and policies established by the BOG, administration and faculty while overseeing all aspects of the university curriculum and encouraging students to become involved global citizens. The OASA supports curriculum initiatives, faculty hiring and promotion events, faculty research and teaching, and all academic departments and programs; oversees services related to the teaching, learning, and research activities on campus.
Reporting to Academic Affairs, this position will support the Vice Provost/Regional Vice Chancellor in all areas directly related to administrative functions and academic instruction.
POSITION SUMMARY: This position will perform a wide range of duties from administrative to specialized program support for the Office of Academic and Student Affairs, including preparing statistical reports and spreadsheets, preparing correspondence, presentations, handling information requests, planning events and meetings.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Respond to and initiate inquiries (personnel, facilities, administration, etc.) Prepare materials, report, assessments, spreadsheets, and/or PowerPoint presentations; perform other administrative and analytical duties supporting the academic mission of the Office of Academic Affairs and Student Success. Prepare presentation materials for use by others, editing content and adding appropriate graphic and design elements. Serve as liaison with other academic and administrative departments, representing OASA on cross-functional teams, policy committee, and work groups.
Provide administrative support to the the campus Faculty Senate and the Faculty Professional Development Committee. Advise faculty on matters related to policies, Sabbaticals, Tenure and Promotion, etc. Perform specialized administrative duties required to support the specific program area.
Perform basic statistical calculations on data to produce reports for internal and external use, including SM enrollment, etc. Compile and maintain information that may require web or library researching, gathering, compiling, and updating data and records. Track and update inventory database. Liaison with other department and colleges.
Arrange and coordinate events b/w the three USF campuses. Assist with developing and executing departmental communication plan. Manage all SM faculty and staff communication channels and policies, including listservs, faculty bio pages, etc.
Coordinate and manage compliance with textbook adoption requirements. Serve as the campus Follett Concierge (textbook liaison).
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least four years of experience in an office or administrative support position. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel. Excellent communication skills.
