Position: Tool Room Attendant
Reports to: Mechanical Supervisor

What you'll be contributing:
Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Perform inventory checkouts/returns and processing
Perform periodic physical inventory
Perform maintenance on tool items
Complete purchase requests and work orders in JDE system
Housekeeping
Receive and stock shipments
Work with outside vendors
Maintain and replenish welding supplies as needed
Maintain and replenish pipe, iron and metals used by Maintenance Department
Provide assistance with maintenance repairs and plant turnarounds as needed
Perform other duties and special projects as required.
To succeed in this position, you will need:
High school graduation or equivalent is required.
Preferred knowledge of cement manufacturing
Similar work experience preferred
Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
Climb up to 60 feet above ground on ladders and catwalks
Lift 75 lbs. three times per day, floor to waist level
Walk/stand on uneven ground, walkways and catwalks throughout the work day
Climb ladders, steps and inclined walks minimum of 2 hours per day
Carry 50 lbs. minimum of 50 feet, 5 times per day
Communicate in person or by radio minimum of 2 hours per day
Ability to operate maintenance trucks, forklifts and man lifts (standard and automatic)
Ability to work at heights up to 350'
Physical requirements include visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, climbing on equipment, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, climbing on equipment, working at heights up to 350 feet, repetitive motion, and squatting - all for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours) to perform the essential functions
Ability to work days or nights as required during equipment outages
Ability to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required
Willingness to learn, training will be provided
What to expect in a cement environment:
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Lifting up to 50 pounds. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
