The System Administrator is responsible for administering, implementing, and supporting IT infrastructure and/or business applications to achieve high levels of availability and security, developing and presenting end-user training resources, and helping to deliver outstanding IT services to users across the enterprise. The role also includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end-user help requests as well as special projects with varying degrees of management oversight.
Job Overview
This role administers the use of the varied physical network, computing and communications devices, systems and applications typically considered in the scope of IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include partnering with IT management to develop procedures for administration and support activities, testing of new and updated solutions, providing end user support to resolve issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement. T his role works closely with IT management to develop workplans, though many activities are performed independently and prioritized as the System Administrator sees fit.
This is a hybrid position with typical Monday - Thursday working with the team in the Myers Office and Friday working from hom e.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain user profiles, system configurations, Active Directory settings, and administer IT related management, productivity, cybersecurity, and utilities applications.
Troubleshoot issues to obtain prompt resolution.
Develop, maintain, and utilize checklists to ensure consistent and predictable delivery of services.
Develop and maintain documentation, including IT and end user training resources.
Facilitate and complete periodic Sarbanes-Oxley reviews.
Maintain work areas in compliance with 6S standards and policies.
Ability to perform occasional non-business hours and weekend work as necessary.
Maintain 24/7 availability to address critical business and/or IT issues.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with IT infrastructure components including but not limited to Windows Servers, data networks, firewalls, routers and switches, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, IT asset management procedures.
Analytical/critical thinking skills.
Clear and concise oral and written communication to all levels of the organization.
Design and develop end user training resources and comfort with teaching others.
Effectively organize and prioritize work.
Simultaneously work on multiple tasks and deliverables.
Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley principals in the context of IT General Controls and documentation and audit procedures.
Experience preparing workflow analyses.
Education and Experience
A bachelor's degree in data networking, computer engineering, computer science, information technology or a related field or equivalent work experience.
More than 3 years' experience in system administration or help desk roles.
