What toexpect:


Martin Mariettais seeking aTrainee-Supervisionto joinat our Salisbury, NC shop.Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Trainee-Supervision will primarily be responsible for a 50% hands on/50% project coordination role, all with the continued focus of leadership skill development.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Maintaining a high level of safety and ensure that the team maintains a safety-first culture

  • Utilizing manual and semi-automatic welding processes such as FCAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW

  • Performing cutting operations using oxyacetylene, oxyfuel, carbon air arc, plasma cutters, grinders and a CNC burn table.

  • Disassembling crusher subassemblies using hand tools and power tools (electric, pneumatic, battery and hydraulic)

  • Using common metrology equipment to distinguish focused areas needing further attention such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges and feeler gauges.

  • Performing shrink fit operations using liquid nitrogen, dry ice, rosebuds, induction and oil baths

  • Torquing bolts using hydraulic wrenches, lithium torque wrenches, torque multipliers and hand torque wrenches

  • Setting clearances on bearings and gears

  • Performing machining operations such as grinding, polishing, drilling, tapping, turning and boring on both CNC and conventional machining equipment

  • Deburring parts upon completion of the machining process

  • Leading small shop floor projects with targeted safety and efficiency gains with a heavy focus of cost control and future savings.

  • Coordinating small capital projects within each workgroup with a focus of increasing safety, efficiency and profitability

  • Generating ROI calculations to justify project savings before commencement.

  • Producing fabrication and reverse engineering drawings using basic GD&T measuring tools and converting to complete finished prints within Advance Steel, AutoCad and Solidworks

  • Programming the CNC burn table

  • Collaborating with shop management and floor personnel to create SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) for crusher subassembly remanufacture procedures across welding, machining and assembly/disassembly operations

  • Utilizing IPADS, computers, cameras and video cameras to document photos and videos to provide visual work instructions and perform root cause failure analysis.

  • Performing NDT inspections utilizing the UT machine and dye penetrant

  • Navigating in JD Edwards to be able to create, search, modify and sort work orders in our ERP

  • Coordinating work orders that are subcontracted

  • Building relationships with tool representatives and vendors always seeking newer, more efficient and safer methods for our procedures.

  • Helping to design and recommend fixtures to reduce manufacturing and repair times

  • Checking emails in Microsoft Outlook multiple times per day, communicating with floor personnel, leadmen and upper management as needed

  • Completing task training on all overhead cranes, forklifts, sweepers, manlift, scissor lifts, welders and torches within 90 days of hire

  • Using 5S methodology in conjunction with the floor sweeper to maintain a clean and safe workplace

  • Extending total life expectancy of assets by learning PM procedures for all equipment utilized and remanufactured by all three work groups

  • Reporting damaged tools and tag out of service so that they can be replaced

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, preferred

  • Must be a self-motivated, strong work ethic individual that is willing to work with minimal supervision and at high level of accountability to operational requirements

  • A strong mechanical background

  • Ability to correctly measure parts with micrometers, calipers, gages, tape measures, pi tapes and straight edges arenecessary to perform the job functions

  • Advanced computer skills with the ability to report and transfer information with extensive experience in the Microsoft Suite, Solidworks and AutoCAD

  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, cold and wind, sometimes rain, will be required

  • Ability tolift upto 50 lbs. will be required

  • Long hours standing on concrete, crawling and climbing will be part of daily tasks along with a mixture of time spent at a desk.
